Playing with Parker

Today I watched Parker while Lindsey spent some time with her mom in the hospital. This was my first time to watch another child since I've had my own, and I must say...it went very well! Parker is on a great schedule and he's such a good baby so it made my job easy. I took the boys on a wagon ride after lunch and they had the best time. I also put Nolan in the Jump & Go for the first time this morning. He loved it!

Thanksgiving Weekend

We spent Thanksgiving this year with both of our families in Louisiana and Mississippi. We enjoyed a yummy lunch at Aunt Allison's new house with lots of family Thanksgiving Day, and Eric spent Friday at the LSU vs. Arkansas game in Baton Rouge with my dad. We're still sad about the loss but the guys are looking forward to going to the SEC game in Atlanta this Saturday. We also enjoyed time relaxing with Eric's mom and step-dad on Saturday and Sunday after eating way too much food on Turkey Day!

That Crazy wig!!!

Tonight we had our neighbors Jill & Cole over for dinner and Lizzy & Justin. The guys fried a turkey for the first time and it was soooo delicious! We had a mini Thanksgiving with our close friends and Eric and Justin had a few laughs putting this crazy wig on Nolan and Whit....

Friday with Mommy

Yay! It's Friday! So, this morning after a trip to Whole Foods, I put Nolan in the jogging stroller without his carseat. He's starting to get big enough to do that, but he's constantly turning his head to look at me. It's really sweet. I took some pics before our walk to show how big he's getting. After our walk, Nolan sat up in the nursing chair long enough for me to snap a few pictures. I love his little t-shirt he's wearing today. What a hoot!

Nolan discovers his Bumbo seat

Now that Nolan is 14 weeks old, he's really starting to develop stronger neck muscles. I've been working with him everyday for the past few weeks to sit up in the Bumbo seat without my help. Finally, this past weekend he got the hang of it and with no assistance, sat up all by himself. We're so proud!

Farewell to Charlie

Charlie ran out of the house yesterday when I was taking Nolan for a walk and I was never able to catch him. He has often run off playing and has always returned home. This time however, Charlie never made it back.

After long hours of searching, a construction worker said he spotted a tri-colored Beagle that had been hit on Hwy 280 right by our house. He said he was laying in the median. When I had gone to look for myself, there was no Charlie to be found. I called all the animal clinics, the humane society, and the police and fire departments and no one knew anything about a Beagle.

I like to think that a Good Samaritan must have picked him up and put him in a nice resting place. I may never know what happened exactly, but I firmly believe he's now in the Lord's arms in Heaven.

I loved Charlie immensely and I am truly devastated by the loss of him. He was only 5 years old and such a special part of my life. He will be greatly missed.

Psalm 31:9 - "Be merciful to me, O Lord, for I am in distress; my eyes grow weak with sorrow, my soul and my body with grief."

Austin turns 1 years old

Today we all went to Austin's 1st birthday party. This was the first of Nolan's friends to have a birthday party and it felt more like a play group day with daddy invited! We had a great time and Austin loved his first taste of icing as you can see below...

Nolan watches Austin as he takes his first bite of icing on his cupcake :)

Nonna, Pa-Paw, Aunt Allison and Uncle Jeff visited us for the weekend for the LSU vs. UA game. Go Tigers!! Anyhow, here's a pic I took of Nolan & Nonna before she left. She can't wait to come back again this weekend while Eric is away on a deep sea fishing trip.

Monkey Who?

Last night was Halloween and Eric and I stayed in to hand out candy to the little trick-or-treaters. We wanted Nolan to participate too, so we put him in the monkey suit one more time...and it lasted about 5 mins. longer from when my family dressed him up last weekend!! He really did look cute, but he hated having the head piece cover his ears. So, he became fussy and we had to put his pajamas on instead. Maybe next year he'll have more fun!
